Choose your friends wisely

Today I realized that the people I befriend and spend time with will have a great impact on who I will become. I accidently learned this at school when I sat next to a class student who is deeply focused in school.

If I want to be focused in school, pay attention in class and get good grades, whoever I choose to sit next to in class will have a great impact on how well I will do it. I don’t know how your high school works/worked, but in mine, there are two kinds of people; the people who talk and the people who read.

Situation; Talkers)
In my English class I have a group of friends I get along with really well, however, they are talkers. When I sit next to them, I always end up talking through the whole class. It is not in line with what I want to do, but I cannot help it.

Situation; Readers)
In my math club there are a couple of students who work really well together; they are always so quiet, and whenever they are talking they are helping each other with math problems. Whenever I am there I end up being just as deeply focused as they are.

Whether I choose to sit with the people I get along with best or the people who have the same goals as me, it will determine my educational future. (This is similar to what I became aware of today, but it is not precisely the same. It is meant as an example, and the idea of what I need to work on)

You have probably heard this quote; “Choose your friends wisely.”
I will certainly make better choices for myself by choosing my friends wisely.

Making conscious choices on whom to befriend will help YOU on the direction in life that YOU want to go.

What a miracle

I sat down on the toilet in the bathroom with a bag of chip’s a meter in distance from where I was sitting. I prayed to God, “Please give me the chips”. No response. I then prayed to all other Gods, “Please give me the chips”. No response. Then I tried sending out positive “vibes” to the universe, saying I WANT THOSE CHIPS. No response. I then figured that if I wanted those chip’s I had to go get them myself. No one was going to bring those chips to me. So I got up, grabbed the chips and ate the whole bag. It worked like a miracle.

Be who you are; because that is who I want to see!

I don’t like people who dream they were someone else, someone from a magazine or a movie; and I HATE it when someone is trying to give me the impression that their life is perfect.

We in Norway have so much to be thankful for, yet there are so many people who are unappreciative and take everything for granted; even though they have the most in the world they still ask for more. I believe that this is the part of the reason why Norwegians are so unhappy; they don’t know how to appreciate the little things.

I see people who use all their energy being someone they are not, wishing to be someone else, and trying to reach places which seems unreachable; people who dream of a different life; a fairytale where everything is perfect, where they have everything they wish for, either if it is being rich or famous. I hate the kind of stuff which makes me wish I was someone else and lived a different life. I hate it when something makes me take a second look at my life and make me change my perspective of how well I have it. I am talking about the countless movies, reality series, blogs, series, stories, which gives the illustration of how a perfect life is; as if that is the life to strive for.

I used to think that all human beings where nothing but a product of the environments and the choices they have made about who they want to be. Now I have changed my perspective, I now believe that we are something unchangeable; something that doesn’t change as we grow older. I don’t mean that we are not influenced by the environment, and that we don’t grow and develop; but that there is some part of us that will always remain the same from the day of birth to the day we die.

This part I am talking about which everyone has inside of them, embrace it; because it is the best part of you, it is who you are and it is who you should want to be. I recommend you to find this part of yourself, and just go from there. You will be amazed by who you really are, and how great you are. Be you, because that is who I want see, and that is who the whole world wants to see. Look inside of yourself and open your heart to see yourself as who you are, because that is where the answers lie.
